Reaktion Group was founded by Joshua Kroeker, a Canadian geopolitical risk expert and intelligence advisor with deep, hands-on experience in conflict zones—especially Ukraine.

In 2022, Joshua left a PhD and academic career behind to work directly on Ukraine’s defense, driven by the belief that timely intelligence and principled action can influence the outcome of wars—and reshape the future of nations. Since then, he has operated in both frontline and strategic environments, providing governments, NGOs, and private-sector clients with trusted insights on geopolitics, military operations, defense procurement, and operational risk, among others.

Joshua’s personal and professional experience spans a wide geographic and thematic range. He has lived, studied, and worked in Russia, and has held roles in the energy and resource sector—giving him critical insight into one of the most geopolitically sensitive industries in Eurasia. With an academic foundation in both political science and history, he brings a deep understanding of state behavior, long-term trends, and historical analogies—vital tools for assessing complex geopolitical risks.

Fluent in English, Russian, and German—with working knowledge of Ukrainian and French—Joshua bridges the worlds of academia, operational intelligence, and strategic advisory. He leads Reaktion Group’s hybrid model with a combination of analytical depth and field-tested pragmatism.
